While the weather is cold I’m constantly craving warm drinks. There’s only so much tea you can drink before you start getting creative with the basics. I usually have dozens of bagged and loose leaf teas on hand and plenty of herbs and spices stored in old jars. I use lavender in tea frequently and started storing it in an old spice jar so it's easily accessible (as you can see in the photo the jar says Bay Leaves but it's really lavender). This little treat is great when you need an afternoon pick me up. The combo of two black teas gives you a serious boost.
Bring the water to a boil and pour over the tea in your favorite mug and allow it to steep for 5 minutes. Place a saucer or small plate over the teacup while it steeps. This helps keep the heat in while it's brewing.
While the tea is brewing pour the coconut milk into a small saucepan and heat on med-low. Whisk coconut milk to a froth while it heats.
Once the milk is nicely frothed, remove the tea bags from your mug and pour the milk over the tea and stir in the maple syrup.
Sprinkle it with cinnamon, dried lavender and a star anise.
Make it pretty like you'd see in a cookbook just because you deserve a treat.
